
As most of you are probably aware, Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Bonfire Night is an annual celebration held on the evening of November 5th. Throughout the UK, celebrations take place in towns and villages across the country, and this year we can all start off with a little help from Discovery.
Offering a vast array of tasty Mexican meals for friends and family alike, we recommend whipping up our Fajita Soup before heading out in the brisk, cold weather to watch the fireworks. We’ve used all the many flavours in Discovery Fajita Season & Sauce, to create this flavoursome fajita soup. One mouthful of this warming concoction will whisk you off to sunny Mexico, whatever the weather!

There is so many flavours in our Fajita Season & Sauce that we felt inspired to create a soup. If you love the flavour of fajitas, this one's for you.
2 chicken breast fillets, cut into thin strips OR for vegetarian option 1 x 400g tin red kidney beans, drained
1 large onion, cut into thin strips
1 red pepper, cut into thin strips
1 yellow pepper, cut into thin strips
2 tbsp oil
1 jar Discovery Fajita Season & Sauce
2 tbsp plain flour
1 litre chicken or vegetable stock
1 small bunch coriander, chopped
Method
1. Coat the chicken, onions and peppers in oil and seasoning
2. Heat a large saucepan and fry chicken (if using), onions and peppers over high heat until browned
3. Add flour and seasoning, stir well, then add Fajita sauce, stock and beans (if using the veggie recipe)
4. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 10 minutes
5. Season to taste, add coriander and serve immediately

If there is one dish that entices everyone down to the Discovery kitchens, it’s the aroma of sausages gently roasting in the oven. Sweet, smoky and sticky with just a hint of heat, our Sticky Ribs Sauce ranks highest in Discovery’s "Top 10 favourite sauce poll".
1 jar of Discovery Sticky Ribs Sauce
450g pack of thick sausages
Sesame Seeds (optional)
Method
1. Cook the sausages in a hot oven for 30 minutes
2. Remove and smother in Discovery Sticky Ribs Sauce, ensuring that each sausage is evenly coated (sprinkle with sesame seeds if you enjoy extra crunch)
3. Return to the oven and cook for a further 10 minutes, until the sauce is deliciously thick and sticky
Serve immediately with potato wedges or chips and fried onions

Using a Plain Flour Tortilla instead of a pastry base make this dessert with a kick. Perfect for chocolate lovers, it has cinnamon and chipotle for a kick you’ll love.
1/8 tsp Discovery Chipotle paste (optional)
1 Discovery Large Plain Flour Tortilla
150g plain chocolate
75g butter
4 eggs, beaten
100g golden caster sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Method
1. Preheat oven to 200°C
2. Gently melt chocolate and butter together
3. Add eggs, sugar, cinnamon and chipotle paste and mix well
4. Line an 8"/20 cm loose bottom sandwich tin with the Wrap
5. Pour in the chocolate filling and place in the preheated oven cook for 15-20 minutes or until browned and set
6. Leave to cool slightly before taking out of the tin
For best results, serve warm
