Our Company

When my father-in-law and I started Discovery Foods in 1989, we sold just three original-recipe sauces and imported tortillas and tortilla chips from Mexican food companies in California. Today, we employ around 350 people, sell nine different sauces, three seasoning mixes, five tortilla and wrap kits, numerous accompaniments such as jalapeno peppers and guacamole, and make around 40 tonnes of tortilla chips and six million flour tortillas a week from our three factories in the Midlands. 

I'm proud that our authentic-tasting Mexican, Latino and North American foods are sold to supermarkets, restaurants and catering companies across the U.K. and increasing, all over the world.  And I'm proud that our continually trying to run the business in a way that we would like to be treated ourselves - honestly, fairly, professionally and enjoyably - has earned us much commercial and personal success.

Both our head office based in Milton Keynes, and our factories in Daventry and in Milton Keynes, have gained the Investor in People awards because we believe in continually working to develop and grow our people. I believe this is why two of our original three employees are still with us after 18 years.

When it comes to our products, we believe authenticity and richness is everything. So we continually search for good quality, well-sourced ingredients and original recipes that appeal to more adventurous people and palates: people who want great-tasting quality food that's a bit different to the boring or the bland.
