Chef’s tips

Sprinkle a little Discovery Seasoning over tortillas before baking in the oven.
Cut into triangles and serve instead of crisps.
Serve topped with Discovery Soured Cream.  For extra spice, top with Discovery Jalapeños or Discovery Tangy Fajita Sauce.

It is said that every family has their own recipe for Chilli Con Carne. This is ours. We humbly believe it makes the best chilli in the world. We are up for the challenge. Take it for a test drive and see what you think.

Ingredients
  • Oil for cooking
  • 1 Large onion, chopped
  • 500g Minced Beef
  • 1 sachet Discovery Chilli Con Carne Seasoning mix
  • 1 x 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 x tin of cooked red kidney beans, drained and washed
  • To serve: rice, warmed Discovery tortillas or Discovery Taco Trays.

Method

  1. Heat a little oil
  2. Fry onion until browned.
  3. Add minced beef and fry until sealed.
  4. Add the seasoning mix and stir well.
  5. Add chopped tomatoes and 200ml of water.
  6. Bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 25 minutes or until meat is cooked and liquid evaporated.
  7. Add drained red kidney beans.
  8. Simmer for a further 5 minutes
  9. Serve with rice, warmed Discovery tortillas or Discovery Taco Trays.
